History
The VeilSide showroom sits nearby the Tskuba Circuit on the outskirts of Tokyo. VeilSide. Co. , Ltd. was established in September 1990 by Yokomaku Hiranao. The name is derived from Yokomaku's name, "maku" meaning veil, "yoko" meaning side.In the period directly following VeilSide's establishment, the company's focus directed towards performance tuning. At the 1991 Tokyo Auto Salon's custom car contest, VeilSide won Grand Prize in the Tuned Car Category despite that it was the first time the company had ever participated in the event. Soon after, Yokomaku's firm won trophies in the Dressed Up Car and Complete Car Categories as well. Soon after, Veilside originated the combat series, which sparked many other companies into a new era of aero-styling.

Construction
This kit was bought from ebay, since it is long out of production. The seller presented me with this beautiful kit, but one thing was horribly wrong. The wrong body was deliverd with this kit. Many emails did not help me getting a new car body, so I used the Porsche Turbo body of one of my old Porsche cars.
Exterior
The exterior is all that differs this car from the Turbo. The Turbo body is altered by cutting off it's bumpers and replacing them with resin ones. Also the body receives new resin sideskirts. However, all the resin parts need to be bend of even cut in two, to fit the body. I made a mistake (although the manual didn't mention it) by not removing the bottom trim of the origional sidetrim. This way, the skirts got too low and I had to raise the susspention.

Interior
Since the exterior was so inmensly altered, I figured the interior could also have some special attention. I ordered a set of Sport Seats from Reji. Together with a 6-point harness they now decorate the otherwise standard interior. The floor of the interior was decorated with anthracite flocking.

Paint and Decals
As for paint, I used semi flat and flat black for the interior. The exterior was first primed, then painted gloss black. After that I sprayed Metalic Gold, but this was too much gold for me. In order to get the champage color I wanted, I used AlcladII Aluminium with a few drops of Tamiya Clear Orange.
Conclusion
This kit was my first kit using resin parts. I enjoyed modifying the body, but the parts really have a poor fit. Almost every part had to be modified in order to fit.The decals were also of poor quality, but I believe this was because of their age.
Altough it is not my best car, I still really like it beeing part of my collection.
