History
The 1992 911 America Roadster is a limited editon Porsche of which only 250 were produced. It is the 40th anniversary of the 1952 American Roadster that inspired this beauty. The body is a cabriolet, but with the 911 Turbo look. This means the car has the same wide fenders and body as the Turbo, but it lacks the Turbo spoiler. Although the America roadster was equiped with the same brakes and suspension as the 911 Turbo, it still uses the normal Carrera's flat-6 engine.Construction
As I saw on earlier build Italeri kits, this kit was fairly simple. The general fitting is okay, but don't expect to much detail. With this in mind, I started the build which I hoped was going to be a build of just a few weeksI couldn't be more wrong.

Interior
At first the build went quite smooth, until I reached the seats. These needed a good bit of TLC before I was ready to stick them in a cabrio car. The back was filled with putty, sanded and smoothed and quite a few sink holes had to be removed. After that, I added the levers to fold the seats forward.
The rest of the interior was decorated by seat belts and black interior flocking.

Exterior
The exterior seemed to be quite straight forward, until the small mistakes from the kit became obvious. After a close inspection the kit contained a turbolook Carrera 2 in stead of an Amrican Roadster. I found out that the American Roadster lacked the side blinkers and had a third brake light. I modified the body to rectify these flaws.

Engine
Ths car has a very low detailed engine and I really tried to create the opening lid like stated in the manual, but it simply can't be done. Because the engine is so low on detail, I decided to glue the engine lid shut.
Paint and Decals
Exterior colour: Metalic BlackInterior colour: Full leather black
I wanted to create a black car. To do so, I had to search for several different black paints to create miron color differences. The interior was painted in a semi gloss black with flat black interior flocking. The exterior was painted in metalic black, which gave a slightly antracite look. The roof cover was spayed in flat black and gave an extra shade of black.
Conclusion
This kit can be build as a nice car, but if you want to recreate the real America Roadster, you'll need to get some things fixed. Because of these mistakes, I'll rate the kit with unsatisfactory mark.
